Our Story
Local Roofing’s journey began in March 2018 when we opened our doors in Fairmont, MN. Starting from humble beginnings, our dedicated founder and a small team of passionate individuals worked tirelessly out of their homes and vehicles. Their unwavering commitment and hard work laid the foundation for what would soon become a cornerstone in the local roofing industry. This initial team’s determination not only set the standard for our company’s ethos but also paved the way for future growth and expansion.
The success of our Fairmont location fueled our expansion into Hayward, WI, where we opened our second location in September 2019. Serving the greater Hayward area, this new branch allowed us to bring our high standards and commitment to roofing excellence to an even wider audience. Our team’s relentless drive and the quality of our work quickly established Local Roofing as a trusted name in the region, mirroring the success and reputation we had built at our founding location.
In a significant milestone, July 2020 marked our acquisition of Folie Roofing in Waseca, MN, which we later relocated and rebranded to Albert Lea, MN in June 2023. Today, Local Roofing proudly employs a full-time staff of 26 members, alongside a vast network of highly trained subcontractors. Together, we continue to strive for excellence and innovation in the roofing industry, committed to improving and expanding our services. Our story is one of growth, resilience, and continuous commitment to providing top-quality roofing services to our local communities.

Dylan Herman

Dylan has been in the construction industry for 6 years. He started as a sales professional for Fairmont Roofing at the creation of the company and has transitioned into the leader of our sales team. He is an avid wrestling fan and currently involved with a high school wrestling program. He also enjoys Golfing during any free time during the roofing season.
Zach Johnston

Zach is Local Roofings Operations Manager. He oversees all of the projects, coordinates deliveries, and maintains an efficient roofing schedule for the team. In his free time, you can either find him on the golf course trying to break 100 or out catching some fish on the lake!

I love to coach my boys' sports including wrestling and football and during the summer we are out on the trail's mountain biking, fishing, and camping as much as possible."

“I was raised in southern Minnesota, and have spent the last 30+ years serving in law enforcement, after attending the University of Wisconsin – Stout and Mankato State University. I spent the majority of my career, 27 years, with the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office. I retired from there as the Chief Deputy on June 2nd of this year. My roles included patrol, K-9 deputy, civil process deputy, and I spent the last 8 1/2 years as the chief deputy.
My wife, Heather, and I have three awesome kids; Brendan and Payton, and a daughter, Jordyn. We love boating and fishing, camping, kayaking, traveling, and being outdoors.
I started working with the Local Roofing team this spring and I’ve learned a lot. It’s a different world than what I am used to but it’s also been a nice change.”

Marcus has been involved in the construction industry for most of his life. Spending years working on different crews, doing sales for various contractors, and finally going to work with his team at Local Roofing. Marcus is now involved in the training, support, and management of the team here at Local Roofing. Outside of roofing Marcus has a passion for investing in rural community businesses and real estate opportunities. Marcus is married to his wife Alisa Eytcheson with three young children Edwin, Esme, and Elon.
